Prefer to pay by the hour? $35 per cleaner, per hour, with a three-hour minimum per cleaner, supplies included. You set the task list and we work down it in order of priority. Hourly bookings are timed from arrival and rounded to the nearest quarter hour. The 24-hour re-clean guarantee applies to the tasks completed in the time booked. How the price works. Bedrooms set the Basic clean, $89 to $182. At 1,000 sq ft and above a home size adjustment is added as its own line, because a very large house is more work than its bedroom count suggests. Then every room and job you add has its own price. A worked example for a 3-bedroom, 900 sq ft home: Basic Cleaning (3 bedrooms, house · dust, vacuum + mop) $148; Full bathrooms (2 × $20) $40; Kitchen (surfaces, appliance exteriors, floor washed) $25; Inside oven (1 × from $19) $19. Subtotal $232, HST $30.16, total $262.16.

Every built clean is priced from published parts, so the total is fixed before we arrive and nothing is added on site. There is no minimum booking on a built clean. Post-construction cleaning. A standalone package from $350 up to 1,000 sq ft, then $10 for each additional 100 sq ft, reaching $650 at 4,000 sq ft. Add-ons and HST are extra. All above-ground bedrooms, bathrooms and one main kitchen are included. Basement areas, extra kitchens, appliance interiors, inside cabinets, windows and other extras are selected separately. Oven, fridge, cabinets, windows and blind cleaning stay separate, so you only pay for the ones you want.
Bathrooms. Full bathroom (bath or shower) +$20 each: Toilet, tub and shower, sink and vanity, mirror, fixtures, and the bathroom floor washed. Powder room +$12 each: Toilet, sink and vanity, mirror, fixtures, and the floor washed.
Kitchen +$25 with Basic / move-out; +$45 with Deep. Counters, sink and taps, stovetop surface, backsplash wipe, exterior of all appliances, cupboard and drawer fronts, and the kitchen floor washed. Inside the oven, inside the fridge and inside the cabinets are separate selections. Dishes are not included.
Mopping is included. Every hard floor in the home: hallways, living areas, bedrooms, stairs and landings. Included in the Basic clean; kitchen and bathroom floors are washed with those rooms.
Pets in the home +$25 per visit. Cats, dogs or other pets that live in the home. One flat charge per visit, however many pets you have. The extra passes pet hair needs on floors, furniture and along baseboards, litter and feeding areas wiped around, and pet-safe products throughout. The recurring discount applies to it like the rest of the clean.
Oven interiors are from-prices. Fridge interiors are fixed-price. Oven interiors are from-prices for a standard oven in normal condition. Anything heavier is agreed with you before booking, never added on site.
Inside oven from +$19 each. Oven cavity, racks, door and inside door glass, degreased and rinsed. The stovetop surface is part of the Kitchen add-on. Double oven? Count each cavity as one oven. Inside fridge +$39 each. Shelves, drawers, door bins and seals washed, freezer compartment wiped. Clear out what you can beforehand; anything left is lifted and wiped around.
Inside kitchen cabinets +$29. Shelves, drawer bases and door interiors wiped and dried. This is different from cupboard fronts, which are part of the Kitchen add-on. Empty them before we arrive unless you book cabinet emptying and repacking. Without that add-on, anything left inside is wiped around, not moved out; the booked cabinet-cleaning charge still applies.
Interior windows. One fixed package for the home, based on its size and bedrooms. No window counting needed. Inside glass, frames and sills of all windows reachable from the floor or a small step ladder, including large windows, interior patio or balcony door glass and tracks, and windows in a selected finished basement. Use the higher of the bedroom price and the home-size price. Homes of 5,000 sq ft or more need a window quote by phone before booking. Blinds, exterior glass, skylights and glass requiring tall ladders or specialist access are excluded. Extensive glass walls and unusual access are confirmed by phone before booking.

Balcony. $35 is the basic balcony vacuum / sweep. Add only the extra balcony jobs you want. Vacuum / sweep $35: Accessible balcony floor vacuumed or swept, loose dust and debris removed, basic cobwebs cleared. Then floor wash +$25, railing +$15, glass panels +$5 / +$10 each, door glass +$10, furniture +$15, heavy dirt +$35. No pressure washing, and nothing that needs us to lean out over a railing.
Basement. A basement is never silently included in the home price. Tell us what is down there and it is priced like the rest of your home. Finished: small (one room, under about 500 sq ft) +$45, medium (two or three rooms, 500–900 sq ft) +$80, large (a full lower level, over 900 sq ft) +$110. A basement bathroom, powder room or kitchenette is added at the normal bathroom and kitchen prices so nothing is charged twice. Bedrooms and living areas are covered by the size tier. Unfinished: Not part of the clean unless you ask. Most unfinished basements are a quick sweep of the accessible floor; we confirm the scope and price with you by phone before booking.
Condos. Is free visitor or service parking available? If not, Parking is charged at actual cost. We pay it and add the receipt to your invoice, and we agree the likely amount with you before we arrive. Difficult access (long carry, no elevator, or loading restrictions) is +$20. Both are shown before you book, never after the cleaners arrive.
Recurring cleaning: 20% off weekly, 15% bi-weekly
From your second visit onward, on the whole clean you built, with the familiar team whenever possible.
Weekly, 20% off
A 3-bedroom Basic clean (from $148) works out to $118.40 a visit, and the $213 like-for-like clean with two bathrooms and kitchen to $170.40. Best for busy households, pets, or anyone who wants it to never build up.
Bi-weekly, 15% off
$125.80 for the same Basic clean, $181.05 with bathrooms and kitchen. Choose this schedule if the selected rooms need attention every two weeks.
Monthly, 10% off
$133.20 for the Basic clean, $191.70 with bathrooms and kitchen. Homes cleaned monthly need more time per visit, which is why the discount is smaller.
How the discount works. Recurring savings begin on the second visit, on the whole clean, for as long as you keep the schedule. Your first visit uses the built price, less any eligible welcome coupon. Deep, move-in / out, post-construction and Airbnb cleans are one-time and do not receive recurring discounts.

What does a Basic clean include?
Every reachable surface dusted, every accessible floor vacuumed and hard floors mopped. Start here, add only what your home needs. Dusting of every reachable surface: furniture, shelves, sills, ledges, decor, electronics wiped. Vacuuming of every accessible floor: carpets, rugs and hard floors, stairs included. Hard floors mopped: hallways, living areas, bedrooms, stairs and landings. Bathrooms (+$20 each) and the kitchen (+$25) are add-ons you choose, so a home that only needs dusting, vacuuming and mopping pays only for that.
What's the difference between a Basic clean and a Deep clean?
A Basic clean is dusting, vacuuming and mopping: every reachable surface and every accessible floor. Bathrooms and the kitchen are add-ons you choose. A Deep clean is a detail upgrade on top of that: baseboards, doors and frames, switches and handles, sills and tracks, fixtures, edges and corners, and detailed work in any bathroom or kitchen you have added. It is priced by home size, from +$59 for a home under 1,000 sq ft to +$239 for 3,500–3,999 sq ft. Inside the oven (from +$19), inside the fridge (+$39), inside cabinets (+$29) and interior windows (from +$39 per home by size and bedrooms) stay separate with either clean, so you only pay for the ones you want.
Does a Deep clean include the oven and fridge?
No. Inside the oven is from +$19 and inside the fridge is +$39, whichever clean you book, and they are only done when you add them. Inside cabinets is +$29, emptied before we arrive unless you also book cabinet emptying and repacking. Deep cleaning is the detail upgrade (baseboards, frames, tracks, fixtures, buildup); it never silently includes the appliances, so a Deep clean without them costs exactly what the calculator shows.
How are interior windows priced?
For Basic, Deep, move-in/out and Airbnb cleaning, interior window cleaning is one fixed home package from +$39, based on the higher of the bedroom and home-size bands. Inside glass, frames and sills of all windows reachable from the floor or a small step ladder, including large windows, interior patio or balcony door glass and tracks, and windows in a selected finished basement. Use the higher of the bedroom price and the home-size price. Homes of 5,000 sq ft or more need a window quote by phone before booking. Blinds, exterior glass, skylights and glass requiring tall ladders or specialist access are excluded. Extensive glass walls and unusual access are confirmed by phone before booking. Post-construction uses separate counted packages: $29 up to 6 windows, $59 up to 12 windows, $79 up to 24 windows; more than 24 windows requires a confirmed quote.
What does $35 balcony cleaning mean?
The balcony is its own selection so you only pay for what you want. $35 is the vacuum / sweep: the accessible floor, loose debris and cobwebs. Washing the floor is +$25, the railing +$15, railing glass panels +$5 each (large panels +$10) and the balcony door glass +$10. Interior windows are one fixed home package from +$39, based on size and bedrooms. Interior patio and balcony door glass is included when you add the package. We do not pressure wash, and exterior window cleaning above the ground floor is a specialist trade we do not offer.
Do you clean basements?
For Basic, Deep, move-in/out and Airbnb cleaning, basement work is selected separately. When you build your clean we ask whether the property has a basement. A finished basement is +$45 small, +$80 medium or +$110 large for dusting, vacuuming and mopping, and any bathroom or kitchenette down there is added at the normal price so nothing is charged twice. An unfinished basement is not part of the clean unless you ask; we confirm the scope by phone. Post-construction uses its own basement area packages: $29 under 500 sq ft, $39 at 500–1,000 sq ft and $49 above 1,000 sq ft, including declared basement bathrooms.
Do you charge extra for pets?
For Basic, Deep, move-in/out and Airbnb cleaning, one flat +$25 per visit when there are pets in the home, however many you have. It covers the extra passes pet hair needs on floors, furniture and along baseboards, litter and feeding areas wiped around, and pet-safe products throughout. Choose “pets at home” when you build your clean and it shows as its own line; a 3-bedroom home with two bathrooms, the kitchen and a pet is from $238 before HST, and the weekly or bi-weekly discount applies to the pets line like the rest of the clean. The post-construction pet add-on is $19 per visit and is selected separately.
Do large homes cost more?
Yes. Bedrooms set the Basic price, and at 1,000 sq ft and above a home size adjustment is added as its own line: +$17 for 1,000–1,499 sq ft, +$32 for 1,500–1,999 sq ft, +$57 for 2,000–2,499 sq ft, +$67 for 2,500–2,999 sq ft, +$80 for 3,000–3,499 sq ft and +$510 for 9,000 sq ft and up. Over 5,000 sq ft we confirm by phone. The Deep and move-in / move-out upgrades scale the same way, so a 4,000 sq ft home is priced as the job it is rather than as an ordinary four-bedroom.
How is condo parking handled?
We ask when you build your clean. If your building has free visitor or service parking, nothing changes. If parking is paid, we pay it and charge it at actual cost, and we agree the likely amount with you before we arrive, so it is on the quote, not a surprise on the invoice. If you are not sure, we check the building with you when you call. Difficult access, a long carry, no elevator or loading restrictions, is +$20, and concierge sign-in or a service-elevator booking costs nothing; just tell us the routine.
How much should I pay a cleaner per hour in Ontario?
Ask each provider for its current hourly rate, minimum time, included supplies and insurance arrangements. Heron is $35 per cleaner, per hour with a 3-hour minimum per cleaner, supplies included, if you would rather set the task list yourself. Most people do better with a built clean: Basic from $89, then only the rooms and jobs you add, with the total fixed before we arrive.
What is the going rate for a house cleaner in Ontario?
Compare the complete task list rather than a broad market average. At Heron, a 3-bedroom home is from $148 for Basic dusting, vacuuming and mopping, or from $213 with two bathrooms and the kitchen, before HST. Other providers may bundle different tasks. Do I need to tip my cleaners?
Never expected, always appreciated. If you'd like to, 10–15% is typical, around $21–$32 on a $213 clean. Our cleaners are paid well above minimum wage either way, so please don't feel obliged.
Why are your prices lower than other companies?
The starting price covers a narrow scope: dusting, vacuuming and mopping. You then add the rooms and tasks you need. That keeps the entry price low, but it does not mean a fuller Heron clean always costs less than another company’s package. Compare complete quotes before deciding.
Is HST included in these prices?
No, all prices shown are before HST. Ontario HST of 13% is added at invoicing, and the calculator shows it on its own line so the total is never a surprise.

How much does a cleaning service cost?
For a home, the number to compare is the whole visit, not the hourly rate. Companies charge $45–$60 per cleaner-hour when they sell time; as a fixed price, Heron’s Basic clean is $89 for a condo or one-bedroom and from $148 for a 3-bedroom, and a full standard clean with the bathrooms and kitchen is $134 for the one-bedroom and from $213 for the 3-bedroom, before HST, supplies included. Add the inside of the oven (from +$19) or fridge (+$39), pets (+$25 per visit) or a Deep upgrade only if you want them, and take 20% off weekly or 15% off bi-weekly, from the second visit.
Are you insured, and does that cost extra?
Yes. Heron Cleaning carries $2 million commercial general liability per occurrence ($5 million aggregate). There is no separate insurance charge.
