In 2026, house cleaning in Ontario runs about $30–$40 an hour for an independent cleaner paid cash and $45–$60 per cleaner-hour for a company, or $180–$300 for a one-time clean of a typical 3-bedroom home with two bathrooms and the kitchen from the companies that publish prices. These are Heron’s one-time prices for common homes: a Basic clean (dusting, vacuuming and mopping) plus the bathrooms and kitchen listed. Floor area is above ground. Basement, balcony, window and appliance work are separate unless the row says so.

On a bi-weekly schedule the same 3-bedroom clean is $183.20 a visit from the second visit (20% off), and a weekly clean is 20% off. Deep and move-out detail are upgrades to the Basic clean; they do not silently add every room or appliance. Compare the service inclusions before choosing one.
How much do house cleaners charge per hour in Ontario?
Independent cleaners in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Mississauga typically charge $30–$40 an hour cash, usually without insurance or supplies. Companies charge $45–$60 per cleaner, per hour, with a three-hour minimum; Hellamaid lists $59 and MKS $55 per cleaner-hour. Heron’s hourly rate is $35 per cleaner, per hour, with a 3-hour minimum per cleaner and supplies included. For an hourly quote, always ask how many cleaners attend and how many hours each works: two cleaners for three hours is six cleaner-hours, so a $59 rate is $354 before HST for that visit and Heron’s $35 rate is $210.

What changes a house cleaning quote?
- Bedrooms and floor area: the base home price and size adjustment are separate at Heron; some packages add a square-footage fee instead.
- Rooms selected: count full bathrooms, powder rooms and kitchens, including any in a finished basement.
- Level of detail: routine Basic upkeep, Deep detail or an empty-home move.
- Optional tasks: appliance interiors, cabinets, window glass and balcony work have their own prices; at Heron the oven and fridge are from $19 each and interior windows $5 per window.
- Access and condition: parking, building arrangements and unusual buildup, agreed before booking.
- Frequency and tax: compare the first visit and recurring visits separately, with the same tax treatment. Heron takes 20% off weekly and bi-weekly cleans and 10% off monthly cleans from the second visit; HST is 13% on top everywhere in Ontario.
At Heron, mopping is part of every clean, and the bathroom and kitchen floors are washed with those rooms when you add them, so the same floor is never charged twice.

What is deep cleaning?
A Basic clean is dusting, vacuuming and mopping: every reachable surface and every accessible floor. Bathrooms and the kitchen are add-ons you choose. A Deep clean is a detail upgrade on top of that: baseboards, doors and frames, switches and handles, sills and tracks, fixtures, edges and corners, and detailed work in any bathroom or kitchen you have added. It is priced by home size, from +$59 for a home under 1,000 sq ft to +$239 for 3,500–3,999 sq ft. Inside the oven (from +$19), inside the fridge (from +$19), inside cabinets (+$29) and interior windows (from +$5 each) stay separate with either clean, so you only pay for the ones you want.

What should a cleaner do in 3 hours?
Three hours with our two-person team is six cleaner-hours. For a typical 3-bedroom home that covers a Basic clean plus two bathrooms and the kitchen, which is what most people mean by a full standard clean. Inside the oven, inside the fridge, inside the cabinets and interior windows are separate add-ons with their own prices, so they are only done when you add them.

Recurring visits, supplies and booking
Heron’s recurring discount is 20% for weekly or bi-weekly visits and 10% for monthly visits, from the second visit, on the whole clean you built. Deep, move-out and post-construction work remain one-time services. Cleaning products and equipment for the agreed work are included.
